Error When Exporting Reports

December 11, 2015 Kendall Woolery

Microsoft recently released an update that causes issues when you go to export your reports in Shepherd's Staff.  The issue is caused by an automatic Windows update (KB3102429).  It appears that it only affects users on Windows 7 and Window’s 8.1, and only when exporting to PDF.

This problem may cause issues with other applications in addition to Shepherd's Staff. Microsoft is aware of this issue and is working to fix.

Fortunately, while we wait for Microsoft to resolve these issue, there is a workaround. When preparing to export reports, simply change the font that you are using for your reports to Tahoma. Using this font you will be able to export your reports out to PDF without any issues.

If you have any questions or are still experiencing issues, please give our support line a call at 800.346.6120 during normal business hours (Mon-Fri, 7:30am-5:00pm CST) or email us at
